One of the perks of FOX sidelining their schedule in favor of baseball is that I get to see shows I like, but don't normally watch. I enjoyed Las Vegas last night--it's a fun, fluffy show, and Josh Duhamel certainly brings the pretty. Tonight I'll probably watch NCIS. Abby is totally the best part of that show.
That said, I did miss Prison Break last night. I am seriously obsessed with that show. It's downright cruel to make us wait for the next episode! I suppose I can console myself with the two-parter I have saved on the TiVo... I'll probably end up writing fic in the interim, just to tide myself over. :)
Arrested Development season 2 and Veronica Mars are out on DVD today! Woohoo! There are actually still a few VM eps from last year that I haven't seen, so that's very exciting. I ran out and bought both sets at lunch, and got a pleasant surprise--as a Best Buy Reward Zone member, I got an additional $5 off each set. :)

So much TV, so little time. I still need to watch the two-hour "finale" of Stargate: Atlantis, as well as the season premiere of Desperate Housewives, but that leaves plenty of shows to cover!
Going back a week...finally watched the season premiere of Arrested Development. Damn, that show is funny! It makes me sad that more people don't watch it. Given their penchant for cancelling great shows before their time (Keen Eddie, Firefly), I really give FOX credit for sticking with the show. It certainly deserves the support. Who knew the kid from The Hogan Family would have such impeccable comic timing? Jason Bateman is still my favorite part of the show, but the rest of the cast--particularly Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, and David Cross--is also fantastic. And I love that there's actually an imoscar.com website.
Also watched Monday's episode of Prison Break. I enjoy the show, but, I don't know, it's still lacking somehow. ( Breaking it down )
Numb3rs is back! I missed you, Charlie. :) I really enjoyed the season premiere, and it was great to see that Navi Rawat has been promoted to the opening credits. I'll miss Sabrina Lloyd, but I thought Diane Farr did a nice job. ( 3.1415926 )
I really liked the season premiere of Crossing Jordan. I wasn't thrilled with the way some things were left in last year's finale, and I wasn't sure how they would be addressed. Most of it was good, fortunately. ( We're off to the see the Wizard )
Grey's Anatomy still rocks, even if Meh-redith is useless. George is still beyond adorable, and Cristina kicks ass. ( Paging Dr. McDreamy )
If there are any fans of Wicked (the book, not the musical) reading this, here's a heads-up: the sequel, called Son of a Witch, is being released tomorrow. It picks up after Dorothy melts the Wicked Witch, and focuses on the young man who may or may not be Elphaba's son.
Season 4 of Gilmore Girls comes out on DVD tomorrow, so I'll be picking that up as well. I haven't seen most of S4, so it will be fun to watch "new" episodes.

Well, I did it--I asked J if N was single. And the answer is...J isn't sure. His first response was "Kind of." Apparently, there is something about J's fiancee's college roommate C and N, but J isn't sure what. And C is apparently in Philadelphia, which is not exactly close. So, I didn't bother to ask for N's phone number, but at least J now knows that I am interested in N, and J said he would keep his ears open. So that's kinda good, right? At least I didn't chicken out about asking.
Not having a new Desperate Housewives last night? Sucked. ASS. On the other hand, Arrested Development was as delightful as ever. I finally finished watching disc 3 of the season 1 set yesterday, and then I watched last week's season premiere. Good times.
I should probably mention that the NaNo project is completely in the shitter. Haven't touched it in over a week. At this point, I don't have much motivation to do it, since I am so incredibly far behind. Bad Gracie!
And finally...
Dear Josh Schwartz,
As much as I love Rachel Bilson in her portrayal of Summer, with every episode it becomes increasingly clear that Seth is in love with Ryan. As for Ryan's romantic entanglements, Mischa Barton is a horrible actress and Marissa is a tool. Please kill off this character ASAP. And then bring on the gay. We all see it, man.
Sincerely, Grace

So, I decided to run out to Borders tonight to pick up a couple books (I want to read Helter Skelter--not really sure why), and because my stupid neighbors' sleep-over friends like to park their vehicles across from my garage, I had to sharply angle my car to get it through the mcuh-too-slender opening last night. Anyway, I backed out and practically tore off my passenger-side mirror. Okay, it wasn't quite that bad, but I did break the plastic casing around the mirror. The mirror is intact, but not very aesthetically pleasing. So, I'm cranky. But I got my book.
Enjoyed Desperate Housewives, as always, but where the hell was James Denton? Marica Cross needs to eat a little more, but she looked smokin' in that red lingerie. But seriously, a fucking burrito?! Honey, Rex may have his faults, but he's not a bad-looking man. Let. It. Go. As for the mysterious Dana...( Theories )
Spent a large portion of today marathoning Arrested Development. Got through the first two discs, which ended up being okay, since I had to tape tonight's season premiere. Stupid football delayed it so it conflicted with DH. Grr. How much do I love Jason Bateman? And Will Arnett? And Portia diRossi? So much.

While I am glad that Saddam Hussein is captured, I cannot help but fear that this will cause an upsurge of love for G.W., and we'll be stuck with the moron for another four years. Yikes.
In other, non-politically-inflammatory news, I fell down my stairs on Thursday. Because apparently, I'm just that big of a klutz. No severe damage, thank goodness, but it still hurt like hell and scared the crap out of me to boot.
So, I've watched every episode of Arrested Development since it premiered. I like it. I enjoy watching it. But it doesn't make me laugh very often. I keep thinking it should have me rolling, but it doesn't. Plus the whole George Michael/Maybe "relationship"? Squicky beyond words. Am I just not smart enough to truly enjoy this show? Has too many years of The O.C., Friends, etc. deprived me of the ability to fully appreciate dry, acerbic humor? I don't think I can handle it if that is the case. One weird note, though: Gilmore Girls and Arrested Development have both featured a "living art" festival this season. Two very different approaches, however, and I must say I enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek aspect of AD more than the somewhat-too-taken-with-itself slant of GG.
C.S.I. was really good last week. Nothing particularly earth-shattering happened, but Sara wasn't a bitch, Catherine wasn't having a personal crisis, Nicky was competent, Warrick wasn't off hiding in a corner, and there was no Grissom/Sara subtext. Plus, Sara and Warrick got to work together, which, thanks to
helsinkibaby is always a good thing in my book. The crimes weren't especially gruesome, yet there were still interesting twists. And did I mention the utter lack of G/S subtext, which makes my eyes bleed? Oh, and Grissom had good banter with both Catherine and Nicky, which I enjoy.
Christmas is ten days away. Must finish shopping. If only all the annoying people in the world would go away and allow me to roam the stores in peace.
