When I say jump...

Watched Lost yesterday. I enjoyed it more than the last couple of weeks, but it still wasn't spectacular. I enjoy Hurley a lot, though, so it was cool seeing his flashbacks. Still, time seems to be moving ridiculously slowly--we've covered what, two days in four episodes?

A few more thoughts )

It really makes me sad that more people don't watch Everwood. It's such a great, great show, with some of the best acting on TV today. Emily Van Camp, Chris Pratt, Tom Amandes...oh, hell, the whole Abbott family rules. Strange to think that when the show began, it seemed to be about the Browns...

No tears this week )

Gilmore Girls was really good this week, and it set the stage for some major changes. Personally, I'm tired of the rift between Rory and Lorelai, and I hope it ends soon.

Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy )

Watched part of Celebrity Poker Showdown last night, featuring the men of Desperate Housewives. They are hysterical together. I think I love Doug Savant. Jamie Denton is freakin' adorable. And who knew Ricardo Chavira was so funny? I'll have to catch the rest of the ep sometime.

And finally...there are some new "Now or Never" shirts over at TWoP, including a green "Go Pirates" hoodie. I feel like I was supposed to tell someone if they ever sold anything like that again ([info]meegzi31, perhaps?), but I can't remember who, so I'm hoping that whoever it was sees this post.

Shuffle Up and Deal

Nothing against David Cross, but when it came down to him and Peter Facinelli on Celebrity Poker Showdown last night, I really wanted Peter to win. For one, David has now made it to the final table twice. For another, Peter has now made it to the final two in his game twice, and lost both times. And finally, Peter would have contributed a significantly higher hotness factor to the championship table. Yeah, I'm shallow. :) I actually wanted Jason Bateman to win before the game started, but c'est la vie.

Went clothes shopping last night, which I really, really hate, but I hate sitting in traffic more, so stopping at Kohl's was a better option. I actually needed some new summer work clothes, because I am now FAT. I managed to find some stuff I liked, which was an accomplishment, and of course I had to buy fun stuff too. Like a kick-ass PJ set (part of the bobbypin by Jeffrey Fulvimari line) that says "Brainy is beautiful. (end of story)," a pair or Rainbow Brite socks, two t-shirts--Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears, a Care Bears fleece throw, and a Frankie & Johnnie initial purse with the letter "c" on it. All in all, it was a pretty good haul for less than $250. Plus I shouldn't need to go clothes shopping for a long time.

So how will they be written out?

So apparently, Jorja Fox and George Eads have been fired from CSI. (I'm not lj-cutting this, because it is literally all over the entertainment news.) While I'm sad to see the dissolution of a cast that has had good working chemistry, I'm not devastated by it or anything. The character of Sara Sidle has been made increasingly unlikable over the past season--perhaps longer--and quite honestly, I'd rather focus on the cases without being distracted by her bitchiness. Plus, if this means that the "SS Geek Love" 'ship is finally and forever removed from my screen, I will do a happy dance.

As for George, I think I would have liked Nick Stokes better if they hadn't written him as an imcompetent doofus so frequently. I was given some hope during the promotion storyline arc last season, but I guess I won't get to see Nicky finally coming into his own.

I think I would actually be much more upset if Gary Dourdan and Eric Szmanda had been let go. I just adore Warrick and Greg.

I must admit, the entire situation sounds a bit fishy, with contract disputes, mysterious letters, and other cast members supposedly calling in sick. I'm sure the whole sordid story will be revealed in time, though.

Moving on to I Love the '90s, 1996 and 1997, I mostly listened last night, rather than watched, as I was working on my computer. And unless my hearing sucks (which, actually, it kind of does these days), Chris Pratt was not on until the very last segment of the 1997 episode, when he commented on South Park. I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating--I lurve him.

Ended up watching Celebrity Poker Showdown from 11-1 am, because I am colossally stupid, and somehow decided that staying up until 2 am when I needed to be up by 6 was an okay idea. I'm sporting a headache and some fatigue this morning, so TGIF. And there's a chance we'll be getting out of work early today, since our network is being upgraded and we can't use our computers after 3 pm.

I swear, USA only airs about 20 different episodes of Law & Order: SVU. I only started watching the show a few months ago, and I pretty much only watch the reruns on USA, yet practically every time I tune in to an episode, it's one I've already seen. This is very frustrating, people.

Awesome episode of Celebrity Poker Showdown last night. The celebs were Richard Kind, Jennie Garth, Dave Navarro, Jerry O'Connell, and Willie Garson. None of those people make my top 10 list of favorite celebs. I don't dislike them, really, I just don't really care about them. So imagine my astonishment when it was the funniest, best episode of CPS that I have seen. 'Twas a very pleasant surprise.

I managed to last a half-day at work on Wednesday, in spite of the migraine. Went to the doctor yesterday, and they gave me pain pills and migraine medication, so I was a little loopy the rest of the day--at least, when I wasn't asleep. Feeling much better today, although I'd still rather not be at work. Ah well. At least I have a three-day weekend to look forward to.

Worked on the Chris/Lorelai fic last night, while watching Lauren Graham on Celebrity Poker Showdown. I wanted her to win, but since Maura Tierney did, I'm glad she at least got second. And I just think it's cool that women have won the championship both times now. Anyway, I have 650 words written for chapter 2, and I like the way it's going. This chapter jumps around a lot less than the last one, which should be nicer for the readers--all 8 of them. :)

Celebrity Poker Showdown Rant here )

For any Gilmore Girls fic readers out there, I posted the first chapter of a new story last night. It's Lorelai/Christopher, which isn't something I normally write. Feedback is welcome. The Dish, the Spoon, and the Fork in the Road, Chapter One: The Plastic Stick of Doom.

Adam Rodriguez is, like, the worst poker player ever )

I still have not managed to find a copy of Flight of the Navigator, which is frustrating. I think I shall try the Best Buy near work at lunch today. I so want to watch that movie. I tried to find it at Circuit City last night, but their CD and DVD sections are always such disasters that it could have been there and I never would have known. I was so tempted to go up to an employee and tell them that their lack of organization actually deters me from shopping at their store, while in contrast I dropped $137 at Best Buy the other night, because I could actually find what I was looking for.

My air conditioning died earlier this week, but it's better now. Of course, as soon as it was fixed we were hit with a cold front. Figures.
